Why I don’t Blog every book I read

I have been called out because I am only reviewing books I liked.  So here is a list of my recent reads that for one reason or another were just not my cup of tea or I chose not to do a blog review.

I have taken a stand lately that if I see more than 10 errors in the first 50 pages – I stop.  If an author does not care enough about their craft to do their very best – then I cannot in good conscience do a review.  Some of these books fit in that category – but some do not.

Social Engineer (Brody Taylor Thriller #1) by Ian Sutherland.  Apparently I was the only person able to see all the grammatical errors and typos – a lot of potential but could not get into it.

Insectual: The Secret of the Black Butterfly by Barbara Sala.  The book summary did not match the book for quite a while.  Did not finish it – could not get into it.

Secert LifeThe Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd – I really like this book but it was my second read so I did not do it justice with a blog post.  I read it when it first came out and I rarely re-read a book but my book club picked it – so I reread.  And, I am glad I did – I think I liked it even more the second time.

Defectors by Joseph Kanon – an average spy thriller – 3 stars – solid just nothing wonderful to set it above other books in this genre.

To Love Enough by Donna Nitz Muller – Could not get the purpose of the story. The characters were not well developed. There could have been a story here but I could just not get into it. All the grammar and typos kept making me stumble in my reading.

  1. You have to take a path of either blogging every book, the great books or the dud books. I like that you have chosen the great-book path, as I can certainly find duds all on my own. However, if you want to include just a brief list of your duds, it would certainly save me money for more reads on the great list🙂. imo 🤓
