Let me preface this review by saying that I don’t often listen to audiobooks, but this one truly impressed and captivated me.
From the moment I hit play, I was drawn into a world of intrigue and suspense. The masterful storytelling skillfully wove together complex characters and a gripping plot. The narrator’s voice enhanced the overall experience.
It kept me on the edge of my seat, treadmill, stairmaster – ok you get the idea – I was listening every chance I got. The intricate yet uplifting web of revelations had me guessing until the end. Being a fan of The Walking Dead, early seasons (I gave up when it started to get too dark), this listen brought back why I love that genre and still gave me plenty of positive spins and hope.
The main character Ben is relatable and a man with strong moral fiber who cautiously has not lost his humanity. Add in a plethora of characters, from the upbeat to the seasoned survivalist, and I just kept hitting that play button.
While I usually prefer the tactile experience of holding a physical book, this audio adaptation truly won me over. The production quality was good, and the narrator engaging.
I recommend giving this one a chance. You won’t be disappointed by this series of novellas – and I can’t wait to listen to more in the near future.
