“Headwaters” is the leaping-off book for the “Relentless River” series. This heart-pounding read has everlasting suspense.

From the very first page, you’re plunged into a world of danger and intrigue. It took me a couple of chapters to get relationships organized in my brain. But then I could not wait to see inside of each of the main characters. The story follows a pattern of calm, reflection, BAM, that kept me on my toes.

What sets this book apart is the well-crafted characters. There wasn’t a single one that I could not picture in my mind – and several I’d like to meet in person. The main protagonist, Sam is a complex yet relatable guy trying to find his way in the future after a past that has left him damaged.

The author’s descriptions and attention to detail created an immersive reading experience that allowed me to feel the adrenaline of the characters. Her writing is crisp.

“Headwaters” is a great start to the “Relentless River” series. I’m excited to see where the series takes us next and what new challenges await.

SUMMARY

Paul Thomas appears to have everything a man could a great job teaching at the college level, stability, and a blossoming relationship with a beautiful young woman. Underneath the facade is a tragic past. Paul’s father had been killed in the military, followed by his mother’s death, for which he is responsible.
