This heartwarming tale is full of second chances, family, and finding love in unexpected places. Maya, a bridal gown designer, returns to Charleston to care for her injured father. Her path crosses Derek, a widowed father trying to save his family’s bridal boutique.
Maya is being pulled in various directions as she tries to balance her aspirations and health while rediscovering the meaning of home and family. At times she is naïve —particularly in her tendency to avoid addressing her feelings or thinking through the consequences of her actions- but growth is shown as the book progresses. The romance between Maya and Derek is light and sweet, making this book perfect for readers who enjoy slow-burn, feel-good love stories. This was an uplifting and enjoyable read with its charming setting and themes of love and second chances.
