Jennie’s Review
This is the kind of series that keeps pulling me back in, because I genuinely want to know what happens next in Cari’s life. Leslie Piggott has a real knack for setting a scene and then patiently letting all the pieces unfold—not just the mystery itself, but the thoughtful, sometimes messy process it takes to solve it. Shattered Links delivers that satisfying blend of character growth and carefully layered clues that makes turning the pages feel effortless…and stopping at the end feel a little impossible.
While you can jump into this series at any point and still enjoy the mystery, I’ve really loved starting at the beginning. Watching the characters evolve book by book adds so much depth, and it gives you a real understanding of what makes them tick. Those small personal details and relationships build in a way that makes each new installment even more rewarding, especially if you enjoy mysteries that care just as much about character as they do about the crime.

Book Summary
A couple hunting for a bargain finds something far darker, a thick liquid oozing from a car’s trunk. One call to the cops, and the lid pops open to reveal a corpse. No ID. No answers. Just a dead man waiting to ruin someone’s day. The dealer can’t produce a title, and suspicion spreads fast. Cari’s boss insists the man is innocent and sends her to clear his name. Brenington PD detectives Genevieve and Alex dig for answers, but the trail is already going cold. Cari’s newlywed life is pulling her focus, and the deeper she digs, the more tangled the lies become. If she misses a single clue, the killer may disappear for good, and the next shattered link could be her.
