Historical Fiction
The author once again shows her expertise at Historical Fiction. You can see immediately that this book is well researched and written with deep affection for the time and the characters. I really enjoyed the major throw back in time to the original News Anchors who traveled around the country informing the people. It was interesting to see that even back then the “reader” was selective in what was told to the audience. The young Johanna is told with amazing insight into the mind of a child ripped from her home and taken hostage by Indians.
The entire story is told in a way that immerses you.
