This dynamic start to what I think will be a great series that had me quickly swiping pages. Set in New Orleans, the area is a character and part of the plot adding an enjoyable dimension to the story. The story jumps the reader in the middle of Detective Holland’s life with some of the back story filling in as you go along.
I liked this character, and I found the minor characters supporting him very compelling. I hope to see them again in the next book in this series as they added a nice layer to an already rich environment.
This is a very solid start to a series I look forward to continuing.

SUMMARY
Every story needs a beginning.
The story of Louisiana State Police Detective Cadillac Holland’s legend began with what should have been a simple fugitive case. It’s hard to find a man who doesn’t want to be found, and harder still when you have trouble telling the destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina from the bombed out streets of Baghdad you left behind in an ambush that nearly took your life.
Detective Holland is building a reputation for leaving a trail of unintended consequences in his path, but he will always get his man.
