Nikau’s Escape (Adventures of Jabu & Friends, Book 3) by Kate S. Richards

This author always has a great adventure in each of the 3 books in the set.  While each can easily be read as a stand-alone, I thoroughly enjoyed them in order.

This story centers around Nikau who is dealing with a lot of life changing challenges.  Presented in a realistic manner, the braid of surfing, snowboarding and relationships is fascinating. The author does not shy away from some tough subjects and presents them in an age appropriate way for readers middle to high school.

While each of these books have a strong message for the reader, I never felt like it was instructing but rather guiding you on a path.  Whether you are a kid, or kid at heart, there is a compelling adventure here for all to enjoy.
