Fun, light, and good steamy scenes!  With the beach calling – throw this in the bag!  But not for a quickie (pun intended) but a week-long vacation as it is longer than my usual beach reads.  The author pulls you right in with a scene with main characters Ginger and Roland, and you can feel the heat from their first words together.  A speeder and a police officer – city gal and country guy – someone who just bent a few rules and someone who follows them all – to the last dot!  That juxtaposition is the perfect avenue to take the reader down as these two figure out what they want. While Ginger is hiding in a small town and trying to figure out her life after the release of a sex tape and subsequent firing as an actress, Roland is just living his life – until WHAM!

There is also a great plotline going with Lexi, widowed mom of 3 boys.  Lexi and Noah could have held their own in a book just about them but add some great balance for Ginger and Roland.  Lexi and Noah are each carrying a lot of baggage but when they come to the conclusion that it’s easier together – sparks and icing fly!

There is not much will they, won’t they – because they just DO! But the development of relationships and the fun side characters as well as exploits (think about a donkey wearing a skirt!) made this a very enjoyable read.

All the fun of a small town in Texas, Magnolia, and a pet iguana – what more do you need?  Well, let me tell you – the steamy scenes between characters! I will never see a strawberry cupcake without thinking about Noah, aka Dr. Icing!  Reminder to self – add cupcakes to grocery list ————
