Character Interview with the Real Porter
As a dog who loves to do sports and tricks, how has it helped you that you were friendly with other dogs and people when you were a puppy?
When I was a puppy, my owners made sure that I met lots of other dogs and people in a friendly and positive way. This helped me feel comfortable and happy around others, which has been really important for me when I’m learning new things or competing in sports. It helps me stay focused on what I’m doing and not get too distracted by all the other things going on around me.
You’re a Mastiff, can you tell us more about what that means and what kind of dog you are?
As a Mastiff, I’m a big dog that is known for being loyal and protective of my family. I’m also really friendly and love to be around people. I’m a gentle giant, but because I’m so big and strong, it’s really important that I get good training and socialization so that I know how to behave and be safe around other dogs and people.
What are some cool things you’ve done as a dog who loves to do tricks and sports?
I’ve done lots of different sports and tricks, like agility and rally, finding hidden scents, and doing fun tricks like rolling over and playing dead. I’ve also been in magazines, commercials, and even a movie! I will be receiving the Working Dog Supreme title in this year’s Mastiff Nationals, and I am so excited because of the hard work I’ve put in, and the love and support of my family.
What is your relationship like with your friend Midge?
Midge is my best friend! We love to go on adventures together and explore new places. We’re always learning new things and trying new tricks, and we always have each other’s backs. We’re great companions and love spending time together.
What advice would you give to kids who are getting a new dog?
If you’re getting a new dog, the most important thing is to be patient and kind. Dogs need lots of love, attention, and training to be happy and healthy. Make sure you give your new furry friend plenty of exercise and playtime, and be consistent with your training so that they know what you expect from them. Most importantly, have fun with your new dog and enjoy all the wonderful adventures you’ll have together!

Thank you so much for the support!
