Jennie’s Review
This series has long been one of my favorites, so when I learned this would be the final installment, I was genuinely sad to see it come to an end. But what an ending it is.
Everything I’ve loved about these books—the deep character connections, the sense of wonder, the magic, and the rich fantasy world—is turned up several notches in this unforgettable finale. Annie is facing her greatest challenge yet, and this time she’s doing so without the power, knowledge, and resources she’s relied on before. To make matters worse, some of her strongest allies and sources of support have been imprisoned, leaving her more vulnerable than ever.
I’m deliberately keeping the details vague because this is one of those stories where the discoveries, twists, and emotional moments deserve to be experienced firsthand. Half the fun is watching everything unfold.
Saying goodbye to a beloved series is never easy, but this book delivers the kind of ending that reminds you exactly why you fell in love with the series in the first place.

Book Summary
Annie Abbott has always felt the quiet pulse of magic in the world—the life in stone and star, wind and water. But when her awakening power erupts in a battle that shakes the realms, the cost is devastating. Annie now lies suspended between life and death, her magic sealed behind a shadowed veil no one can reach.
Across a blistering desert refuge, elves, dwarves, druids, and queens keep vigil, waiting for the girl who once stood against darkness itself. Without Annie, the alliance cannot face the rising forces of the underworld. And time is slipping away.
Far across the sea, the Red and White Witches—Annie’s mentors and the last guardians of ancient wisdom—are imprisoned deep within the legendary dungeons of Rognap Nar, a fortress carved into a sheer pillar of volcanic stone rising five hundred feet above the waves. No army can breach it. No spell can break its walls.
As the last battle of the fey gathers on the horizon, Annie’s allies must attempt the call her back from the edge of death and unravel the secrets of a citadel older than mortal history.
Because if Annie Abbott does not rise again, the world’s last light may fade—and magic itself may fall silent.
