Proof that a Christmas story can be enjoyable any time of year!

I read the first book in this series a couple of years ago, before attending Coast Magic in Florida where I met the author. I enjoyed it enough to purchase the second book, which then proceeded to sit in my huge to-be-read pile for far too long. You know how that goes!

This series is written by a couple of authors, with each book standing alone and set in a small town in New Jersey. As an original Jersey girl, I loved the chance to “go home” for a little while. The setting felt familiar, and I could easily picture the town and its characters.

Even with a pretty big gap between books one and two, I remembered the characters and the area, which says a lot about the authors’ storytelling skills. The romance feels believable, the characters are easy to root for, and there is just enough angst to keep things interesting without taking over the story.

It’s a sweet, feel-good read that left me smiling at the end. And while it may be a Christmas story, you certainly don’t need to wait until December to enjoy it. A perfect beach read, weekend read, or whenever-you-need-a-smile read!
