Mystery/Thriller
This is Book 2 in the Rabbi Ben Series. At a point in the story, the main character, Rabbi Ben is referred to as Rabbi Jason for the Jason Bourne character. While this is true on a lot of levels I found Rabbi Ben to be a better developed person. The interweave of the personal and professional lives of Rabbi Ben were skillfully portrayed.
This is a romping adventure that easily carries the reader along. Another enjoyable aspect is the world history incorporated into the story. I found it to be a great asset in understanding the characters and the plot.
I did not read the first book in this series but at no time felt like this could not have been a standalone – although now I do want to go back and read the first one and can’t wait for the next one.
I was raised on the east coast and after reading this I now have an urge to go looking for a Kosher Deli in Texas!
