Heirs of Jior (Book 3) by Wendy L Anderson

HeirsJior

Worth the wait!  Those of you who follow this blog or any of my social media know I read – a lot. To be totally honest I actively keep track of just a few authors.  Others I keep ½ an eye on but those I regularly check on to see what is coming when – number about 6.  This author is one of those.  When I read the first book in this series I was blown away.  The language, prose, and steamy scenes (unexpected in a fantasy book) hooked me immediately.  When the second book came out – well it was read almost as soon as it was published. Since then I have been trying to patiently wait for the third – and it was worth it.

This book is really a collection of three novellas that are intertwined.  It concentrates on the children of King Lorn and Queen Lily.  Lyra Song, Little Wing, and Dark Star that we last saw as children are now all grown up and ready to make their place in the world.  The author chose to present each character in chronological order as opposed to simultaneous and that made for a wonderful foundation of reading.

The author’s incredible weaving of words is throughout this book.  Her characters that jump off the page and stand in my living room as I read are there in full force.  The descriptions of the scenes are vivid, I could smell the iron. And the steam – well let’s just say – she’s still got it!

I’m a fangirl (not sure what that means at my age).  But this is one author that I think everyone should give a read to.
