Murder, Cottonwood Style By Kathy McIntosh

I met this author at the Tucson Festival of Books, and after a two-minute chat, I knew I would enjoy her books. I read this one on Kindle Unlimited.

Buckle up for a wild ride with Madrone Hunter, the chef-turned-tour-guide with a knack for adventure and a “do or die” spirit! In this escapade, she’s back from a trip where dealing with the sassy and spirited Violet was more exhausting than her kitchen rush hour. But hey, Madrone’s got a sunny outlook, even when faced with a town like Cottonwood, where drama’s as common as the local gossip.

When Violet is murdered, the small town becomes a whirlwind of suspicion, secrets, and more colorful characters than a circus parade. But fear not, Madrone’s diving headfirst into the chaos to clear her name, her brother, his girlfriend and anyone else who might be fingered for the deed.

This whodunit is a rollercoaster of laughs, intrigue, and enough twists to keep you guessing until the end. And let’s not forget Madrone’s sidekick, RK (definitely an upgrade from “Roadkill”), who adds an extra dash of spice to the mix. Grab a cozy spot and get ready to join the fun – Madrone’s adventure promises to be one heck of a delicious ride!

Her plans—explore scenic small town Cottonwood, AZ—fall flat as a bad soufflé when she finds her most finicky, elderly client of all, murdered. Since Madrone discovers the body of her cranky customer, one who planned to sue Madrone’s employer, she becomes the chief suspect.

Chef Madrone prefers sifting flour to sifting through secrets but vows to find the killer. Before she herself is silenced.
