This novella appears to be a sweet tale of a murder (or two) on a train ride. After receiving this book as part of my VIP bag at the now Orlando Book Fest (was Indies Book Fest) I put it on my reading stack and gave it little thought. However, on a recent between book phase, when I just wanted something quick I picked it up. I’m sorry I waited this long to read it as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The author quickly and easily transports you to a simpler time and place. The characters on the surface appear to be your average people in an interesting situation. Appearances can be deceiving.
SPOILER – there is a dark twist that I never saw coming, and the real situation is revealed in the last chapter that gives the entire novella an entirely different feel. Well done to the author!
I look forward to reading more from this author! CLICK HERE for her website and book information.
SUMMARY
On a short train ride from Knoxville to Chattanooga a young girl’s life is changed forever. Murder, love, and a lifelong mystery are set into motion as the passengers listen to the clickety-clack of the wheels on the track. Can her hero, dressed in Navy whites, save her from disaster? Is there more to this tangled web of lies and deceit than there seems to be?
