Love comes in many forms and the bond between twin sisters can run deep. In a time when marriages were arrangements for men’s profits, the main characters are ripped from their world and thrown into a foreign environment.  Showing the reader angst and despair as well as glimmers of joy, this author does a great job of taking us into the hearts of these two sisters.  Steamy scenes are handled with finesse and realism but that is just one emotion that you will be experiencing as you read. As relationships develop and ‘life goes on,’ there is more afoot than first realized.  Friends may be foes and strangers may be allies but these sisters will always have a bond.

After reading and loving this author’s fantasy five-book series, Kingdom of Jior, I looked forward to seeing where she would take her readers.  This book proves that Anderson is a multitalented author. Best of all, it is a standalone that allows you to enjoy the entire story.

SUMMARY

The bond between sisters is one forged in blood and fire.
